BREEAM Certification
BREEAM is the Building Research Establishment's Environmental Assessment Method. It is an international scheme that provides independent third party certification of the assessment of the sustainability performance of individual buildings, communities and infrastructure projects. BREEAM assesses, encourages and rewards environmental, social and economic sustainability throughout the built environment.
BREEAM assesses the sustainability and environmental performance of the project across ten categories, one of which is Land Use and Ecology. Many of the available credits in this category are dependent on the early appointment of a Suitably Qualified Ecologist (SQE) and the achievement of Biodiversity Net Gain. Durham Dales Ecology hold all relevant qualifications, memberships and experience to act in the capacity of SQE, and are experienced in achieving 'excellent' and 'outstanding' accredited projects.
If you intend to seek BREEAM certification for your project, please let us know at the earliest opportunity. This allows us to tailor our advice accordingly, to ensure the maximum possible number of credits can be achieved at the correct stage of the assessment.
